How To Become An SEO Expert Very Quickly

Ok and now we will have a bunch of new SEO experts .

OP you opened up what had the potential to be a great thread...

You could have milked the thread to get hundreds of posts...

Instead you chisel the first poster who comes in with an opinion that does not match your doctrine...

Let me tell you one of the fastest ways to fail in business is to start disparaging every man and his dog...

No doubt you will want to have a pop back at me and my dog! My 2 dogs are called Harley and Fatboy thankfully if you call one out the other will bite you.

Your right, I came out swinging hard. I dont like reading good threads that get bashed on this forum. It discourages people from posting quality info and encourages the crap spammy thread posters to do their thing.

But in the end its not up to me to say my thread is better than someone elses.

So Ill leave it alone.

Thanks for the post.

Being a member here in BHW for a while experimenting new ideas will make you learn more about seo but to be an expert you should do seo for years note the search engine changes and be there always updated...

You can't become expert by reading few articles or many of them in a day or two, it is a process it takes time. Hands on approach and consistency.

Read, process, formulate new ideas, execute campaign, measure results, execute modified campaign and repeat the process. There's enough on BHW to forgo the other forums so that will save you some time.

So.. read experts' posts and call yourself an expert then?
Sorry, that is called being a copy cat. Sure, you should read and read a lot but an expert is one who tests his own strategies and comes up with things that actually work instead of copying others and blindly agreeing with them.

You know, I can only halfway agree with you here. And that's pretty much a first for me. Because I've noticed for quite a while that when you feel like sharing info, it's time to sit up and listen. LOL.

I mean, okay sure, copying someone blindly probably won't work out well for anyone. You call that a copycat, and I imagine a cat run over by a Semi Truck. lol

HOWEVER... emulation and reverse engineering the success of others is not only good business, but it's the only way there is to break in to a huge segment of how we make our living here. I mean, things have to be studied and figured out on their own. I only learned that this past year I guess
. If it's handed out freely, it's worth exactly what it was paid for...

I personally failed and failed and literally just felt like a complete idiot before finally remembering that I'm capable of analyzing what's profitable, what works and how it's done. I'm still failing my way forward to be honest, but progress is progress, right?

So, I know you're trying to make sure that "hey, just don't jump in the deep end without looking first." I get that, so I guess I do agree with you more than halfway. but I also think that it's a shame that so many guys (guys that have real promise) always just stand by the pool waiting for the water to jump up on them, just like they are always waiting for that amazing WPO that's surely going to come out soon and change their life with a one-push easy-button that's going to line their pockets with gold for some reason. I find that pitiful, but I also have to admit that used to be me - sorta. I got bored with waiting. And I guess it was a hot day because I've doing belly flops and cannon balls ever since.

Thanks Bert, solid advice.

Give the guy a break for god sake hes just trying to help u fokers.

The best way of learning SEO is to follow tutorials and experts posts.
you just have to keep patience and to spend lots of time to learn the basics related tasks as your goal is to make a good page rank of your websites.
Things you have to keep it in mind are keyword research, link building, on and off-site analysis, these are the most important part of a SEO campaign.

No need for flaming.

I think what the OP was sharing was a quick way to find useful info related to SEO. Where he went wrong was saying that it makes you an expert soon after that! BK is too right, you need to put the stuff you learn into action and filter the stuff that works from the stuff that "sound right".

Rep for effort... I don't think you deserve that much neg. rep for trying to share a way to learn.

To be honest the OP seems to have been flammed
a bit more than he probably deserved. I didn't see
what he initially posted before his edit but I have
to say he's copping a lot of heat for something which
seems pretty innocent to me.

The OP seems to be advocating learning. I bet you if
he asked something like "How do I become an SEO
expert" the answer many people would give would have
been to "use the search button" and shit like that.

That said, I also agree with others about the fact that
you do need a bit of a filter when it comes to blindly
accepting information (not that the OP said that).

So OP, to you +6 Rep because I think a few people have
neg repped you unfairly. I commend you the good intentions
that I personally believe you have behind your OP and feel
somewhat bad about the reception you are getting here when
I see a lot worse posts than this.

I hope what some people have said here does not discourage
you from continuing to try and contribute to this forum.

Thats exactly what I was saying. What he said was partially right... reading is crucial but it doesn't make you an expert. No way!

But instead of listening to my opinion, OP starts saying what I'm doing is shallow and he has shared the holy grail of SEO. Why being so rigid about your opinion?

Like steelballs said above - he shared a nice way for newbies. But again, the title is misleading and I'd be brutally honest here... if you think only reading threads makes you an expert then you are a mediocre too, not an expert. At all!

bk we got off to a bad start yesterday, mostly because I took what you said the wrong way. I think we can all agree that it takes a lot of reading and a lot of physical testing to be an expert or successful at anything. It was a bad title for the thread, and set the tone wrong right from the start. I really want to learn (and see others learn) and become stronger in my SEO skillset, the same as most others here.

Let this thread be an example to all, of how easy it can be to spectacularly crash and burn at something, when things are not stated properly, and Egos get fired up.:p

Anyway I would like to offer up some of my recent findings that Ive been hinting at in other threads, and get some feedback and thoughts from everyone.

Basically, what our team has been finding with our SEO efforts recently is that backlinks are not ranking sites. I know...I know... its blasphemous:-)

But really take a look around at sites. Look at the results people keep seeing from their own sites and backinking efforts. There is so much inconsistency in rankings.

This seems to be due to two things.

#1 Site structure and meta/onpage optimization.

and

#2 The type of text that is on the page.

Now I will get more into this and hopefully create a better thread about the topic later, but if you can, really have an objective look at whats going on with rankings. And see if you can see the patterns Im seeing.

The main one I keep throwing out is that Matt Cutts basically told everyone that backlinks arent working anymore on Christmas. Everyone miss understood him to be saying that Press Releases no longer work. But we all know thats not true, Press Releases are working fine for ranking sites still. So that just leaves 2 things, he was lying, or he was telling the truth and people misunderstood what he was saying.

With everything Ive seen with Frobarks test sites and the various sites that are ranking high in the serps, Matt Cutts was telling the truth when he said links wont help rankings. (In the traditional sense, that we all understand backlinks)

I have a lot more info to back this claim up, but I dont feel like people respect or deserve deep truths without paying or working to get those truths. So at this time, Im not planning a WSO to sell for people to pay for this truth/info, Im giving clues for people to "work" this out on their own.

Also it is really imperative that people start optimizing their sites correctly in order for Frobark to be able to offer our future services for this new backlinkless SEO environment.

Hopefully the guy in this video helps people get headed in the right direction:
