There is a monster in software review niche, it's techradar.com which dominates almost all of the "best [Software name]" related topic, the SEO rules doesn't seem to apply to it, it can rank with:
1). Average content quality.
2). Zero backlinks on the target page.
3). Zero social signal on the target page.
4). No internal link at all.
6). Rank No.1 as soon as the new content indexed on google..
7). No keyword density formula.

Is there anyone who can share some experience on how to outrank it?!
Thanks in advance.

you can outrank big sites with more relevance for specific keywords and topics, as they tend to be more broad.

that being said, you still need shitton of good links

i wouldnt compete with techradar.

what you can do they can do better

The fact that you are asking this question means you are probably not going to outrank it. Find an easier keyword.

The answer is overwhelm the niche with links or content though. I've beaten sparse category e-commerce pages on the giants before with both of those.

And there is plenty of internal linkage. Just because your backlink checker doesn't show them doesn't mean they aren't there. Techradar is probably perfectly structured to pass it around. The exception to this is if Techradar randomly had a page about dog training on it somewhere. That page would be easier to beat than a software page. Happens sometimes with general sites like HuffPo etc., but probably not on a site like Techradar.

I am pretty sure the specific page doesn't have internal links, anyone have successfully outranked Techradar on software niche?

I will be making a new site just for this purpose. Will report back with results within a few months (hopefully). Outranking Techradar has been a dream of mine ever since I began doing SEO.

Again, just because the backlink checker is showing 0 external links doesn't mean that the page isn't extremely powerful. Amazon category pages also show 0 internal links. Are they easy to beat? No.

You can answer your second question by looking at what Techradar ranks for and seeing if any smaller websites beat them. Usually not. That's not saying it can't be done, but it's not going to be a walk in the park. If I had to make a bet I'd say you will be able to get to page 2-4, then no higher without some serious, serious, serious offpage SEO.

your need some serious pbn and briilaint backlinks .

gsa
gsa indexer

I don't use tool to check its internal links, I verify that manually myself, the magic thing is the Techradar article is regular post in "New" category, it was posted in 1/6, and showed No.1 for the target keyword in 2/6...

I have been targeting the same keywords for 4 months, I did a lot of efforts on both Onpage & Offpage including:
1). Writing around 100 articles around the main theme [Software Name], silo structured the articles.
2). Build 40+ PBN sites (expired domains from auction, ALL are niche related, 200+ referring domains).
3). All the 40 PBN target the same keyword, and have already ranked in Top 100 for the same keywords.
4). My main site is 5 year+, and already have strong backlink profile.

Even though, I can only get my article show on the bottom of Page 1 for the target keyword... feel so frustrating!

This might not be a good idea imo. Diversify your anchor text if possible. Also how's your anchor text distribution in general?
I didn't mean I use the same anchor text on the PBN, I mean the article on PBN sites are ranking for the same keywords in Top 100, I use diversified anchor text to link back to my money site.

Reall looking forward to this. Perhaps, start a journey here to keep us updated. Best wishes

Thanks. I have a domain lying around that is ultra-powerful and has links from Techradar itself so it would be interesting to see how it performs in the SERPs. I will try to launch the site today.

can you do this test:

pick a keyword, go to page 7-8. pick a link that you can tell it is not doing any seo work. now put create a link from you powerful domain and let us know the result of serp movement!!

i really like to see how much serp uplift you can get from powerful domains. again this is just a test for few days to see the impact. you can then delete the backlink

i have done this with few of my powerful PBN and it 24-48 hrs I saw a huge serp movement!!! did this test few times... it was amazing to see huge movement in less than 2 days.

thanks!!

Yeah, for sure. I will hopefully start the site today and let you know the results once the site establishes itself in the SERPs.
