Blogging is said to enable you a great lifestyle if you stick to blogging every day. The point is, I've been following this idea for quite a while. I created posts on my blog based on research about what people are interested in. I made those posts helpful and went out of my way to create something that people can benefit from. I put affiliate links there.
But still, hardly anyone came and especially does not click on my affiliate links. And basically I make an income of maybe at best $5 per year from that. Now there's those people that claim this was the best idea of making money as I mentioned, if you just stick to it, the money will come, said for instance by income school. But in my experience that just isn't the case, even though this statement is vague on purpose on their side, as there is no time limit. But then they talk about what to put where on a website as if being above the fold made such a huge difference when people just come for the content to then leave. Maybe especially because people are highly sensitive of content.
So when you see a website and you don't like this website, because it looks spammy or scammy then you will just not buy there. You will not buy there, you will not buy from a page that is linked from this page and it is immediately scammy if you put afiliate links there. So the very usage of affiliate links makes a website scammy and spammy. If there is a lot of advertising, that has the same effect and top that with the fact that most people use an ad blocker anyway, so they don't even see it. So you make all the effort of writing this and people just Come, Leech & Leave. It is really hard to come by information that honestly talks about this, like people fake their revenues from blogging in general, they fake their Google analytics, Google Adsense they fake everything, especially people obviously who want to sell courses. And being experienced in this area of course, when I I see a web page that has affiliate links on it, I clear my cache afterwards. Gurus talk about becoming an authority in an area, becoming the go-to person. But let's face it, nobody gives a shit about who you are.
People care about whether this helps them and then you're forgotten, till they search again on a search engine and find you and maybe, if they find your page over and over again on a search engine, then they will stay with you and come more often. Still, they will not buy anything. They will just stay for their free content. Now, people always say Well, if something is for free you are the product.. But I really wonder who is interested in Details about user behavior when I have so few visitors. And I cannot really sell that. Also, Google for instance using Google Analytics and others, get those statistics for free, and that's why again their products are free.
So it's all intertwined and connected, a long chain of people benefiting off of you and basically like a food chain and at the bottom there's the customer and everywhere in between there's someone leeching off of you.
So I wonder how to be the biggest leech how to be the guy who makes most out of this, how to be the world's winner in this whole mess.
