I essentially do the digg theory. I digg it than I ping both the digg and the actual url (helps if the url is something of value and not a forum profile) than use your link network to post a link to the digg and than take the digg and add it to delicious, folkd, and stumbleupon. rinse and repeat.

if you have a ton of urls just use lindexed combined with the Forum Proifle API's that give you 1000 profiles a day.

If you have lets say, 1000 backlinks you would like to backlink, would scrapebox be the best solution because you can add a list of urls?

... Are all examples of this. But as TheDon says - do NOT use the low quality links directly to your owned pages. This doesn't always backfire - but it can quite easily, and more to the point, they offer very little real 'juice' - and are mainly to help indexing and just power-up the 1st tier content link a little.
 
Speaking of DIGG i have given up on it.

Short story is if you attempt to login it redirect to facebook.
Even if you cancel and try to login with an email address.......redirects back to facebook.

Same thing if you log out of facebook and try to login to digg again.


So basically goodbye to DIGG in terms of SEO
 
I do pinging and rss submission myself.

Also, add some 2nd tier linking methods like profile links, social bookmarking or high PR blog comments. I got really good results then ;)
 
ScrapeBox blasting or Xrumer blasting is enough for that dude. you don't have to build high quality links for them :P
just to notice the SE.

Really, most any automated tool will work. If you want a set-it-and-forget-it solution check out something like Scrapejet. http://www.scrapejet.com

Just don't point these types of links at your main site.

There are also services that will basically do the same thing.
