Hello

I am trying to back up a wordpress site so I can replace it with a css/html site.
I have found a plugin that is supposed to do it, but is there another way of doing it?
Does the plugin also back up the databases? because i understand that wordpress is database-driven and databases need to be backed up too??

I have come up with another solution on my own. would it work if i simply rename the index.php to something else, and then upload the css/html files? homepage would be index.html

i have great experience with Backupwordpress(google it) i never had no problems with that plugin and you can get the files emailed to you.

BackUpWordPress will back up your entire site including your database

I'm not a Wordpress expert, so I can't tell if your solution will work.

For WordPress backup, I am using Backup Buddy. It backup everything including database and even non-WordPress files if you do full backup. However, it is not free.

Just visit your cpanel and do a full backup for your domain.....
Rest i can help out

Cpanel full backup / backup wizard.
Wordpress plugin called Backwpup (save to different directory, cloud, or computer)
