Google doesn't tell you a lie to add more content to your site.
So Write some juicy content for your visitors. If your visitors get a satisfaction I hope Google doesn't have any problem with you.

what a F###in dilemma it is, on one had they are handing people with thin content panalties & on the other hand, there are a tone of 1 page product showcase site, i don't see them ever fading in search results.. can any seo expert explain this, Anyone?

I only have one post for one wesite.
How old are these sites ? I've seen sites which are 10 years old still ranking, but it's harder now to do it unless the one page is 20k words.
You need to add more content ensure it's good quality and unique. Then they will check and hopefully approve it.

My site also got message from google as "thin content" yesterday and my ranking dropped from 1st page.I having more than 40 pages with 500 words per page.How this will be a thin content?..whereas other sites which are ranking in my position now are actually thin content....Can someone give a solution to this?

Just add more content. And one of the most important part of SEO is that you have to keep on adding information and update your content. If you do that, then your content will go high up. Maintenance of your content is important. ;-)
