How to advertise to a certain FaceBook group?

My company has a competitor with a facebook fan page, and we'd like to advertise to their fans.

I know programs exist, like FFAP, that can message/friend people out of a certain facebook group.

How should we go about this? I've never spammed people before! My boss wants their fans to get a link to our site and a short explanation, we're all certain they'll love it.

Does anyone know of a service that could do this for us, or will we have to get our own facebook accounts and do it ourselves? How do we start, what kind of accounts should we get?

I just want the people in that group to know our company exists. Whatever you want to call that is fine.

Are you talking about a group or a page? If you are a page you can login as that page then comment on their wall posts as your page, dont spam and contribute and people will notice your page as a result.

Advertising on your competitor's facebook page is a very "_ _ _ _" move...

Well, it is not really illegal but can be considered as stealing customers. You should build your own list of customers. Then again, if your boss is fine with the backlash that may happen, then do so but do it with respect! And make sure your boss approves of what you're gonna say before you do it!
