What is so special about Tiered Link Building?

I am curious to know how it defers from normal link building and will it prevent the website from getting banned?

It will be grateful is someone would let me know all about tiered link building.

It's great because every single link doesn't point directly to your money site.

Tiered linking is basically just the process of inflating your backlinks with more backlinks. These days you couldn't build thousands of links directly to your website in one sitting without being penalized (this isn't necessarily true for all sites) but with tiered linking you can increase the amount of links you can build without sacrificing 'link juice'.

There is confusion over tiered vs pyramid.

Pyramid

10,000 junk links > 1000 better links > 100 even better links > money site

Tiered

You coud do something similar to a pyramid for the lower qualty links, but with tiers you go:

better links > better links > money site

with the junk links still going up into the "better links" at each tier.

Thus tiered is better than a pyramid, but most people selling "tiered linking" are actually selling pyramids... there is a difference.

Tiered link building has two advantages:

1) Google does not see tens of thousands of links suddenly pointing to a new site. This would raise red flags with their systems, suggesting you're trying to manipulate their system.

2) Instead of seeing lots of unimportant pages linking to your site, Google now sees links to your site from pages that, in turn, have links pointing to them. So it sees these pages as being more important. Important pages linking to your site means a bigger boost to you.

Hope this helps

Tiered links have two major values:

1. It protect your buffer site from bad neighbors or getting black listed that is for those who do strictly black hat.

2. Fact is, links like web 2.0, article directories, wikis (excluding Wikipedia), social bookmarking, doc sharing and the likes lands on PR0 page and passing you no PR. A lot of people assume submitting their website to PR6 home page web 2.0 or article directories will give them PR6 links but that isn't true. So when you build tier links you are very much likely to give PR to your tier 2 and 1 linking to your domain which is great ranking power when done correctly.

That is why i encourage people to use unique article written professionally with the likelihood of getting syndicated, the right press release, guest blog, post on high traffic content sites, use blog comment with real PR, private network, home page back links and many others.

Today, if you ask people to pay $1000 for SEO it look absurd.

Just think of pyramid scheme, top always wins.. so link3>link2>link1 to LINK < your site.

Well said John

Basically this:

1st tier: only HQ links and high PR.
2nd tier: wiki's/blogs pointing to your tier 1 links
3rd tier: blast the fuck out of your 2nd tier links.

Am I right?

it basically froms layers so google can't infiltrate and see that your links aren't natural. Tier 1 has the highest quality links tier 2 is semi-quality and so forth. Best to only have 3 tiers.

yes your right...
the tier2s and tier3s will improved the tier1s...

Use the link pyramid for a good and safe results for your website.
example:
Tier 1: High PR web 2.0 properties -> Money site
Tier 2: social networks -> Tier 1
Tier 3: auto approve blog comment -> Tier 2

Is the tiered link building when the fiverr's "seo gigs" comes really handy? If i launch a new website, should i first create for an example wordpress and blogspot blogs and post some articles relevant to my site's niche? Then do tiered link building from Tier 3 -> Tier 2 -> Tier 1 -> my site? After creating the blogs, buy some social network links and then 10's of thousands links to pointing the social network? Could someone explain me :)
