How this website can rank so high... ?

Hello,
sometime i look some keywords, and i try to understand how the website rank. Just for knowledge, just trying to understand google...

Ok what about this website http://www.tnrequi-n.com

majestiseo give me only 34 backlink.

Look at the website please... There is no content, the optimisation is like 0. I'am ok if this website can rank on Tn requin... why not.. But actually on google.fr its ranked on stuff like ralph lauren, la martina... I just don't understand.

Someone have anyidea ? Maybe because the website is huge and have a lot of page ?

I try so hard to make good website, with a lot of content, sometime unique, and push hard on seo... When i see something like this i just want to kill myself :yield:

I saw the same thing too. One of the website on my niche always rank on number 1,2,or 3 in different region but it only has like 4 pages. No useful content watsoever. The main homepage contain "latin" content - I guess from the original theme message that haven't been replaced with real content yet. I use Google translation tool to see what they wrote and it is completely rubbish. No keywords. Only pictures and rubbish. I feel the same way too.

I saw a 2 month old site ranking #1 for a competitive term with 15000+ spammy links. So what?

If that site sells replicas, it may have the links 301 redirected from old domains that have been removed from google. So the links wont show up on most tools. I have seen this happen with a few sites for UGGs. The domain will rank for a couple of weeks until it is removed from serps.

Also, it's against the rules here to "out" sites.

The site I saw was up on page 1 for like 2-3 years now. No content, no backlinks, no updates, nothing going on whatsoever. It still ranks higher than mine.

Even couple of weeks at the top is enought for them to make big money, because i suppose the website is automatic made, they dont spend so much time to make one of this. Chinese with low quality work are able to make good money and rank very fast. Some of this website is more about couple of months.

I would agree on a possible 301 redirect of 1 or even more domains..

if this is the case - don't worry - it will drop if it as bad as you say.

Don't waste your time on reporting it - work on your site and you will be fine.

These things happen in Google. You can spend your life producing what Mutt cutts want and you end up seeing sites which are crap and ranking high..

As you stated , the above site has a lots of pages ...and because of that the Internal link structure could have been much stronger than your site...It might be one factor !

The owner of that website has a brilliant plan actually. He builds a website that isn't optimized and then waits for his competition to link to it asking why it ranks so well.

You do realize that you just helped him rank even better by linking to him, right?
