How these sites with the same content(exact) are getting indexed by the Google?

I might be stretching here but if I completely copy a page word for word, full plagarize from a weaker website that has been indexed for a month and post in on a powerful domain, would you say the new powerful domain would outrank the old one with its own content?
Yes. I’ve done it. Although this was a long time ago. I think around 2016. I don’t do that anymore. Content is plentiful these days, as you know.

Spinning the article can take the number one spot also, if the domain is strong.

Ive done it before with spun content, well, spinners back in the day are trash compared to now and they still ranked.
But the thing you made me wonder, is if I could use a powerful domain, copy the first 3 posts in a serp word for word (skip over surfer etc since all the things google think is the most relevant is on one page).
and then post it just like that. I wonder if that single page would outrank the others fast on a medium dificulty serp.
In my experience rankings dont drop that quickly even after you change page content so I started wondering if I could just rank pages like that then change the content once they actually are getting traffic. I know it sounds scummy but I just am curious if it works this way or if google is better able to tell you are doing that.

Seeing as PAAs copied word for word were ranking for a while it makes me wonder why would this have not been an option for churn and burn.

That means Google ranks double content when it sits on different domain or subdomain right?

Use this example, the mobile site from subdomain lite.cnn, they have the same 1:1 titles, a hevy text based website.

I created extactly same pages with slight change in title and description on two different domains, and google did rank both but, it showed one out of the two pages as it think is best for the user's query. Sometimes the A page is shown, sometimes the B page for various keywords.

Interesting google also not show both stable rank, google show them with a little serp dance...but not matter you should get double the Traffic?
