Again, there are other computers connected and they are fine. It's not the modem, there's no breaks in the cables or ports, I've switched out the ethernet cord being used.
I understand you have to start with basic troubleshooting but trust me.. I have tried all of that... I need advanced solutions now, this is a very complex problem.
It has been two days, I am so beyond pissed, I tried to call Emachines and all I got was a damn Indian who I couldn't understand, I don't know what else to try.. if it's something the computer is doing then buying a new NIC is not a solution...
I know most people won't read any of the previous posts so once again...
"Local Area Connection" Does Not Have A Valid IP Configuration
It's pulling me a 169 IP address, yet if I plug a wireless card into the computer, that wireless card works. I've tried releasing/renewing, re-installing windows, uninstalling the adapter, switching out cables, connecting directly to the modem, resetting winsock.
