So I forgot to sign out of my google account.

I closed my browser, reseted the router
,get a new IP and clear all cookies with ccleaner.

When I open my browser.

I am still signed in to my google account.

So How Does Google Do This

I'm having the exact same problem. I'm using Firefox for Mac.

Any input would be awesome.

I would have gotten CCleaner ages ago but I don't know of the OSX equivalent.

Do you have any Google software installed on your PC ? GTalk, Google Earth, Chrome etc are all pretty much spyware.

Also flash cookies and firefox profiles trying to be helpful.

It's also happening if you go with an online proxy (facebook as well)

Since last few months i m seeing the same results. Like when i m logging into my analytics account using a gmail account and after checking stats for that day , i normally logout from analytics account. After that whenever i browse youtube, gmail, or google i m already logged in. This is a tricky part google started playing.

To be safe whenever i logout from analytics account i normally visit youtube, gmail and google and signout from my account.

P.s: I don't have any google softwares installed on my computer.

I think I've got it. You just have to make sure you sign off the Google toolbar as well.

i think they track better than FBI right now. Things you can try

1. restart computer
2. Check you have other things from google, the most probably google talk can cause the "problem"
3. Check google toolbar

Cleanmymac software does a better job then ccleaner! it's great for deleting just about everything but i also have browser cleaners for flash cookies also and a developers tool box for firefox, i don't use anything ever to with google nowadays they spy on you more then "pervert spying in the girls showers"

Better Privacy for FireFox. Tell it to clear every time you shut down FF. Problem solved.

Personally I -

Click log out.
Run ccleaner (make sure the right things are clicked)
Clear my adobe flash player cookies (I have them so they don't save)
change IP

For very serious things I switch machines, like using a separate VPS for
different things.

they can track you by flash cookies, MAC address, other hardware IDs...

Yep, that's what I supposed to: the configuration (browser, computer, etc.). This is scary stuff!

Which all can easily be faked!!! :)

AGREED 100%

Here's a good list of things google knows about us just to give people an idea of what privacy you really have online -

FireFox with TrackMeNot and NoScript. Adblock Plus too, I don't use it though.

Always log out.

Never search google while logged in to GMail.

LOOK AT THE INFORMATION IN YOUR GOOGLE DASHBOARD and privatize accordingly.

It's easier than it seems to hold onto reasonable anonymity andfade into the back of the crowd; much easier now that so many more people are online than a few years ago and are absolute children with their lack of understanding internet safety (ie. Facebook...Using their real names on Twitter...LinkedIn...MyLife)
