Ok so I know the sellers keep the scripts to themselves and all that but I have some questions and was wondering if some of you knew...

1) How does facebook/twitter referrer views work? Do you embed in facebook/twitter and send traffic with a script? No idea...
2) Do they trick youtube into thinking they watched the whole video?
3) Is traffic needed?

Any help would be appreciated :)

My best bet is it works similar to Jingling. Search for that on BHW to know more about it what it does. Hint: Traffic exchange-like software.

There are a lot people asking continuously for this and they are always ignored by Experienced Members! Maybe they're right if this will be public it is going to be abused fast!

How this is working?

So lets say we are going to check how YT work. Let's analyze the requests.
While watching the video, it sends numerous "s.youtube.com" requests. Depends on how much the video is viewing after one interval of time YT always send another request. This is retention request and by YT is sending every 5-40 seconds.

st=4.922&et=14.789
st=14.789&et=24.922
..........
st=300.755&et=324.68


How the heck this script work?

It's sending web request. The first request:

st=0.011&et=4.922
and final request:
Code: 
st=300.755&et=324.68

This is How the retention really work. There a lot public scripts already shared but you never have tried!

Edit: If members will continue to post request again about this I'm going to post the full method "How this really work" from the first up to the last parameter.

Those retention requests you found probably contain some encrypted/hashed key in the payload to authenticate as a legitimate client and not a bot. Digging into this will be quite a challenge, but very rewarding. I expect it would take several days of debugging to crack it.

There is a working script here on the forum although you will have to search for it yourself. I also figured out how the PLID's work :)

There may also be values in the requests which require downloading a little chunk of the video to find.

Nope, there are HTTP requests that you send to yt and return anything you need to know about that video :)

I haven't botted YouTube for a few months, so things might have changed, but I remember that, for instance, the exact duration of the video couldn't be retrieved from YouTube, and that you needed to look in the FLV metadata to report the same values as the flash player (for most videos they were the same as YouTube's value, but not all).

now it's just sending a request to /get_video_info
