How technologies may be controlled?

Recently I read in https://www.technewsworld.com/story/How-Much-Can-Technology-Be-Trusted-85741.html that technologies now allow to print a gun. And I mean real gun, that can bring damages. Such guns may be printed at 3D printer with the materials available even at Amazon delivery. I'm afraid that such situation is far from normal state, because everyone can order a "D.I.Y. GUN PACK" right to his door. Unsuitability of the political situation in the word and this fact make me nervous a lot. How this question may be regulated. Any ideas?

The thing is that nowadays it seems like you can print ANYTHING you can imagine. If you can print a house of course you can print a gun or something dangerous.
On the whole, I don't fully understand how it works (it seems I'm stuck in 1990s XD ) but I believe that it can be really done. It's just interesting how much money you have to spend in order to print a gun.
 
A 3D printed firearm is not going to be a good one, its better to drill out a steel rod and then use a rifling kit on it.

On the other hand, you can also 3D print prosthetic limbs (at much lower costs than traditional prosthetics making them affordable to more people). In the near future, we'll be able to 3D print organs for transplant as well.
 
3D printed gun is old news. It still needs a firing pin to make the gun work. Plus the gun isn't very sturdy. It breaks after a while. That being said, it can still be lethal. The law enforcement is becoming smarter as well. So, I reckon we will be all-right (we are fucked up enough anyway).

The main problem is that such weapon can't be detected by scanning. So it can be carried to airport or any other place with metal-scans

Yep, absolutely seriously. Even 1 shot from strikeball weapon can cause serious damage. But strikeball bullets have a ball-form, so it isn't penetrate your bony, but some modernization's can be really dangerous.

Even if they are "breaks after a while" imagine a gang from about 10 people with such guns. moreover such ammunition is too realistic, it can be used for robbery or smth else. Anyway, the situation is awful

As I said, it can still be lethal. I live in a place where you can buy an illegal gun for mere $50. So, these plastic guns do not bother me much. Yeah, these guns can probably escape xray scanners and all (not the bullet & the firing pin though,till now).. That's a bit horrifying, but then... as I said.. Law enforcement is gonna be at it. Let's let them do their job. We already are fucked up enough..
 
Wait for the quantum printing, 50-100 years from now.
Basically we can print almost everything, including our food.
Everybody will have their own quantum printing inside their house, they can perform online shopping, like clothes, food etc
And receive it instantly.

Not really. Having trained, tested, and calibrated those things for 10yrs, I can promise they aren't as good as you think.
BTW: muzzleloader style would work with minimal metal, disassembled. Simple.

As for metal detectors: don't count on a firing pin being enough to alarm, I wear my metal band watch through at airports without setting it off, which do you think has more metal?

The millimeter wave body scanners would detect them without a problem, even if all plastic.

seems like you dont understand the scale of problem, the author is talking about a possibility to create an undetectable weapon at home.

exactly. I'm not talking only about airports or smth like that (with great scanners). STAFF at every event have only manual metal detector, and such weapon can easily avoid it. Moreover, lately there is a lot of accidents in offices, schools and etc
