How strict is Tumblr?

For anyone who monetizes with Tumblr, how strict are they in terms of affiliate links and spam.

Is it very easy to get banned or not?

I asking so I know whether to buy 100 Tumblr accounts and spread out blogs over all accounts, or stick everything under one account.

Tumblr is pretty strict, you can get away with it for a little while but even if you had 100 accounts tumblr will ban them all eventually. Just make sure to use proxies, or use Tumblr as a traffic source and send the visitors to your self-hosted website with affiliate links on it.
 
Yes, agree that Tumblr is strict, even without aff links they ban without rhyme or reason. Probably better to set up multiple tumblr accounts so losing a few doesn't matter, but make sure to use different proxies with your accounts. Otherwise safest thing, as mentioned above, is to use tumblr to drive traffic to your blog. Out of all of the web2 blogs I use, tumblr deletes the most...
 
Dont even try to do this on Tumbler, they're very strict and if you don't mind getting banned(using 100 accounts wont take so long) so take your chance but if you mind a bit so i would give it up.
 
Too damned strict!

Get you're own hosted money sites.
Use T$mblr primarily to push traffic to your own sites.

You can still promote adsense, but again, don't base your monetization on blogs hosted by T$mblr (TRUST me it AIN'T fun when you watch your money blogs go up in smoke from the T$mblr ban hammer...)
 
unless you can automate everything, (bot) they will ban your accounts quite fast and if you leave any footprint they will ban them all at once.

Use Tumblr to funnel traffic to your money sites. Use tumblr just for traffic and you'll be alright
 
You never want to post ads or affiliate links directly on tumblr. You can drive the traffic to an external site of yours all day long with no problem / no bans as long as you manage your network of accounts within "normal" human use. Don't over do it and tumblr will be good to you. They can sniff a blatant spammer a mile away so keep it real.
 
accounts under proxies tend to get banned, in my experience
 
For best results use private proxies, one proxy per account, clear cookies, fake user-agent, etc. Leave no footprints behind, I have blogs that's been running for almost a month and so far none of them have been banned yet.
 
Only thing allowed is Adsense and Buysellads (or similar known service). You can get away with Peerfly banner rotator as well. Mylikes links work if you don't spam the shit out of it (e.g. max 3 posts a day). Make sure you have a decent amount of followers first before you really start monetizing.

Are you totally positive on adsense being allowed? There's a lot of talks about tumblr banning blogs with adsense now.
 
Mine are still up (bit aged though). You really need to add text under every image and a little "about" section to prevent ban from tumblr and Adsense because adsense loves text.
 
Could anyone tell me the Tumblr follow and like limits per day / hour ?

Tumblr is very strict. I was using it to promote my affiliation links on 5 different accounts and they all were suspended. Tumblr is best for pushing traffic with it's click-tru feature.
 
Yes. They are very strict in that matters. Only use them for genuine promotion campaigns.

In the xTumblr user guide you specify: "Do not post or reblog to the same URL or "money account" over and over, you will need to user multiple URLs". This is opposite to what you say here. Please can you give more details? Thanks.

I used to make backlinks using high PR tumblr blogs, but after 2012 April or about that date, they started banning like crazy on Ip address. I used to make 50-100 accounts a day for a few weeks and after update, new blogs started to get instalocked on the same ip.
