First of all, it's almost Christmas so I wish you all seasons greetings.

I want to set up a site for a client who sells adult products, sex toys etc, Can I use wordpress for this if I don't use swear words or phonographic images?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    James :)

I'm not using Wordpress but I'm 99.9% sure that it's allowed... Blogger and Tumblr allows it so why wouldn't wordpress I bet there's some "adult content" option or somthing

It won't be allowed if you use a free Wordpress.com subdomain but if you are installing Wordpress on your own server put whatever you want on it.

As others said (just confirming) Wordpress is just the CMS and has nothing to do with which content you choose to host on your own server.

If you are paying for hosting, you should be able to install Wordpress blog software for free and create whatever kind of blog you want.

I have to agree with iglow here. I follow tons of people on Tumblr for a certain niche of the adult entertainment world and place adult ads for that niche on my tumblr (with the NSFW tag on it). This allows me to just reblog tons and tons and tons of my niche related pronz which also, in turn, generate me even more traffic and fundage through my ccbill porn ads for my niche.

So for adult content, I actually recommend Tumblr because if you use the tags feature appropriately, you'll end up getting targeted traffic directly from Tumblr as well as people regularly following you and spreading your content even further. Honestly I can't even beat that with Google, I've tried.

Regarding WordPress and Porn though, if it's the script on your own server (Self hosted) then it's really up to your host from there on, not WordPress.

Thanks man, I have heard that Tumblr is the way forward with porn. Only problem is that you don't own it, so you if you loose your account, then you have wasted a lot of time and effort.

How do you build traffic with Tumblr though? I presume you don't build back links and implement SEO like you would with a website.

    Thanks for your time.

Just install WordPress on your own server then you're all good.
