How soon do you see results?

It honestly depends. There are so many factors that there is no real answer to it. For me, I see it very quickly since I build high quality links to my websites. Someone that doesn't know what they are doing will have a more difficult time and see results in days to weeks.

Depends on both the host and the types of links. With a good parasite host then I would expect a trickle of traffic within a few days of link building. With a brand new domain it can take weeks to get traction, especially if you're in a competitive niche or your links are on the spammy side.

It usually takes me 3-5 days to see a measurable difference in visitors.

With links you can begin noticing results within about a week, depending on the quality and when Google crawls/indexes them.
The best advice is to keep building links and NOT look back. Even when your site experiences the Google dance.
