How should you use a really strong expired domain?

What if you found a very good expired domain?
An ex university research website with clean history, more hundred links (edu pdfs, tech magazine links, etc.)
1. Redirect to a moneysite to give linkjuice
2. Rebuild website from webarchive and sell links
3. Build a tech blog, and sell something
4. Redirect to a new, brandable domain and build a tech magazin
5. Other: ....

I did exactly this and made it a review site. 4 months later it gets 700 visitors a day without a single backlink added.

Yeah, strong and clean domain should be made into a website. Take full advantage of its strength
