I'm wondering what's the best way to write seo optimized articles due to the updates?

Correct me if I'm wrong or missing something:

    - Keyword Density 1-2%
    - 450-500 word count
    - 1 Image (keyword in alt image)
    - Content that makes sense (unique)
    - Title contains keyword. (At least 3 words, less than 66 Characters)
    - H1, H2, and H3 Tags contains your keyword.
    - Content contains keyword in anchor text of at least one external and internal link.
    - Keyword shows up at the beginning of the first 50-100 words, and at the end of the last 50-100 words of the article
    - One bold, italicized, and underlined keyword (I'm debating on this one)

Google wants natural, no-fluff content. It wants content that has been written by one person, to help out another person .. Not for monetary purposes, but just for the sake of spreading information. On Page SEO is over-rated in my opinion, and you should just work on writing top quality, informative content for your sites.

Forget all the H1 header and alt tags etc. Write good content, have good off-site SEO and you WILL rank!

From what I know,SEO is now all about appearing natural in the eyes of search engine. Instead of your main keyword appearing in the title tag, description, h1, h2, h3 tags, maybe you could use an LSI or related keyword in h1 tag and h3 tag, or LSI Keyword which is somewhere close your main keyword as the Title tag, then main keyword in h1, h2 and another LSI keyword in H3, tag etc.

Instead of bolding, underlining the main keyword, you could do it with the LSI Keywords.. Also, try to vary them with other articles. Do not create a pattern with the rest of the articles. Also, SILO structure of your site also play a huge part in ranking your site.

Don't worry about the header tags and bold/italics. If its on a wordpress site, those are taken care of anyway. Use a few variants of your phrase in the alt text and in the article.

Bold and italic is not that important. Most of the site's themes don't accept them :)
just make them normal. its OK. And i think these are the best practices for On page.

Content doesn't only have to make sense but also provide value. If it's fluff then your site won't last long in the top ranks.

In my opinion just write a useful post answering a question about the keyword. If the post is useful for readers, it will help you in the long run, Don not pay much attention to keyword density.

I would be interested how do people approach writing first article for a completely new website. Do you use similiar criteria as OP? or something else?

I have been having trouble making my websites stay so I think I am doing something wrong in terms of on size optimisation. This is how my first article is structured (I usually do partial emds)

Title (Money Keyword at the beginning); mention money keyword 3 times in the article, put 2 related keywords in the article, tags are money keyword, money keyword with another word, related keyword. Category is money keyword. And article is above 300 - 350 words.

I think you should focus much more on LSI keywords, not just your main keyword. So, previously if your product was "blue car," you would generally just use a couple of very precise terms such as "blue car" "cyan car" "blue automobile."

But now, it seems to be more effective to use all kinds of related terms as your keywords like "eco automobile" "pink car," etc. Using the same keyword over and over in the alt tags, titles, etc, leaves a big footprint that otherwise could be avoided. Mix it up as much as possible while staying in your niche.

Just try to keep it natural with the bold print and other such tricks. If it would look weird as a blog post on your own site, you shouldn't post it as a direct link to your site.

I don't think italic, underline, and bold, also keyword in h2 and h3 are important anymore. Just make your article naturally
