How safe is it to use backlink automation for a long-term authority website?

I'm very interested in using this automated software to create backlinks however I am very conscious of the potential penalties and it is important I sustain this website long-term.

My plan is this: create tier 1s manually that are quality with custom content and images with inner pages, use magic submitter for tier 2s with spun content and tier 3s use magic submitter + gsa to give the tier 2s a burst of life.

Thoughts? Is this a fairly safe technique?

For the last year or two this has been pretty standard. Just be careful of your anchor text ratio pointing to your moneysite. Also it would be a good idea to scrape your own lists or buy a good list from a provider. Plan on putting a descent amount of content up on your tier1s as well. And remember to "age" the web2.0s before you start linking to your moneysite or else they'll delete your articles/posts.

In all honesty though no one knows what Google will come up with in the future so the key to tiered linking is having control over your tier1s so that if Google does change their algo to target web2s or tiered link building you can quickly delete the offending links that are connecting your moneysite.

Great, I think the most important thing is that I maintain a low fabricates links/genuine links ratio. That way my site authority doesn't have dependency on fabricated links.
 
Sounds safe..

Also, Make sure that T1 is made manually (unique content) - If possible use your own PBN (If you dont have one, then build one)

For Tier 2, Don't make t2 for every T1 link. Mix things up. Some T1 links blasted, some not. Some only shared socially.

The more natural and random things are, the better and safer your site will be.
 
You need to ensure you do good tier 1 links then the rest of the tiers can be automated.
 
People need to understand what an "authority website" is.

For example, Business Insider is a true authority website. Do you think they are building links using GSA or worrying about tiers? Nope.

They have people linking to them all day long naturally. And they are using industry partnerships to "naturally" swap links with other authority sites.
 
I would call this effective. I do not call it "safe" longterm, however. Others may disagree...

I have ranked sites in top 10 without any backlink, but I had lot of unique content. These days google bots scrape your site almost weekly If you have good, unique and new content every xx days, and very important factor that users go to your site and stay for sometime your site will rank well in medium long run
