Hi, hope you all doing good.

I want to do some keyword research for my blog. The actual price of the tools like Semr*sh and all are very costly for me now. I read some post on BHW suggesting to go with Groupbuy tools. I did google and found many websites offering group buy tools at a cheaper price. For some of the programs they give cloud access, where as for some username and pass but the problem is they require you to download their extension to login to certain websites for example Canv* Pro. And for the major sites it's extension based login.

My queries are:

1. How safe it is to download those third-party extension that is not even on google store? Anyway to scan before using?
2. Did any of you used those services and have had good experience and no security threats? Name those please?

I asked an admin of such site, he said chrome extension is used so that users doesn't change the profile details, password or billing details. Moreover you can always use it on a seperate chrome profile.

Can I trust it? I mean if the extension is malicious will it have access to that particular chrome profile or it can get access to other chrome profiles as well?

BTW, they have total 2 extensions. 360KB each.

One thing I can do is, to not use the service which requires extension, rather use services that is cloud. But then I will miss out on gramme*ly type service.

Request senior members advice please..

Even if that extension can take passwords it will only affect that browser you installed it on
so just create new chrome profile and use it just for that purpose

So you use them right? And you also find them suspicious?
I used to
But I have discovered that They can spy on what keywords projects you are working on
They can steal your niche

Thanks. My only worry was that if it can somehow get access to other browsers as well.

BTW I saw one review on trustpilot where someone blaming a group buy portal for stealing his emails, credit cards data. But that is weird.

I see. For me I have just started so they can't do much by stealing the keywords. :p But you have a valid point.

BTW, do they use trial services or they actually purchase it? Because I have seen in those packages usually Ahref isn't there because Ahref doesn't provide trails. That made me think it. :D
