I was thinking of using this to build up some backlinks. How safe is this program? Would you use it on a grayhat site and if so how many links would you submit a day?

It's pretty safe, no more harmful than blog commenting IMO. I use it for my whitehat sites and never had problems.

Go ahead with using it. Millions of webmasters are using it and they have no problems

So are you guys pinging after the submission or just let the SE's find the links on their own?

I ping but this tool doesnt really give good resulsts anymore..

sorry for a noob's question:

how can one check, after using blog pinging service, that search engine had really accepted the site?

Autopligg doesnt really work. Those links never show up.

Ok, this is my 2c worth:

I used those blog pinging services, in between the last 1 to 3 days: autopinger.com, pingomatic.com, pingyourblog.com and pingates.com. After 3 days NONE of the blogs pinged through those services have been indexed, neither with Yahoo, Google or Bing.

Contrary to that, I submitted one blog to mixx, digg and technorati. It got indexed within 24 hours.

Pitty, I wasted time with thoses blong pingers.

I read that the search engines can take anywhere from 1 day to 3 weeks to react to pings from the various services. I think it depends on where they are in their crawl cycles.

I heard that Pliggs are changing their register file, making Autopligg's automated registration useless. Might as well go with Spligger right?
