For an amount like that you should try your hardest to find a better solution than PayPal for sure.

I use paypal like mainly for my services. If you receive money regularly in that account you will not have any problem. When you get big payments, they will call the buyer and ask them to confirm. So ask your buyer to enter correct phone number in his account and ask him to attend the call. If he doesnt attend, or they cant reach him, they hold that money and limit your account.

Everything depends on your history and his paypal account.
Its very possible they will demand to verify your personal info which could lead to a limitation where you will have to wait 6 months and will have the issue to cash out if you dont have a bank account on that name registered.Only choice will be a refund but the question is after you receive your money and deliver your product/service will you trust him to refund him the money ?Thats also a big issue

I never had problems with Paypal, and every month reviving thousands of dollars in it :)

Same question : How old is the account? Is it US? Verified? Is it your personal account?

Your criticism is appreciated. However it's your word against lots of others. Do you accept money in your personal account?

I wasn't critisizing. I just don't see the problem. Paypal is a bank that's meant to send and receive money. 4 figures isn't all that much. You said your account is verified and I assume you aren't scamming someone for the money.

And yes, I do accept money in my personal account - I'm self employed on the books. I don't even like accepting or transferring small amounts in paypal so my transactions are always a minimum of a thousand and I never had a problem.

If you have a history of pissing off sellers/buyers then you may be more vulnerable, but you didn't say anything about that. Anyway, if you're really not comfortable with accepting money with a certain bank, then just use a different bank or have them mail you a certified check.

No I am not scamming anyone obviously. But the major thing here is my account is new and haven't transferred 4 figures at once until now from that account.

Obvious that you don't see the problem, but that doesn't mean you know the right answer either. ebay account for sale

Paypal most certainly is NOT a bank.

It's not that much money, but it is when you look at the average transaction. In fact, almost all transactions over 250 dollars are red flagged if you haven't had that much go through before. Why? Because this is all that is covered under their protection without a signature.

I once had a paypal rep tell me I was in the top 1% of paypal users when I started to take in 10 grand month.

Everything you're saying is true for you personally, but it has no bearing on the overall bigger picture for paypal and their business practices.
