How rigorous is mod selection?

I've ran into some doozies deleting posts that were definitely relevant (geographically) and run into some major attitude when trying to get a simple explanation. Also see others complaining on same subs although the posts don't last long

Completely depends on the sub. And usually, you can get an idea of the moderation quality by looking at interaction and engagement on posts

Sometimes posts are deleted simply because they don't fully comply with a community's specific rules. Even if the post is geographically relevant, the nuances in the rules may be missed later.
