I want to create a site with embedded viral YT videos. I would get my traffic via social media pages. How profitable are these sites? I know most of them would be monetized with adsense but what numbers are we talking about here?

Is the CTR around 1% and epc around $0.1 for ads as the traffic would be interational, mobile with 36% around US and some other high paying countries also.

With stats like these I'd need 1k visitors to make $1. Tell me about your experiences!

Thanks!

One of my PBN sites went semi-viral in the last 2 weeks, I am getting around $1-$1.5/1000 page views.

Sheesh - so you need a shit ton of visitors to actually capitalize with a website like this one?

With specialty sites, you're essentially trying to appeal towards a very specific demographic.

Yeah, lots of page views to get something. I got around 8,000 page views yesterday and that was around $12 from adsense. But I am not complaining, every dollar counts.

Karu, a side note but I'd be interested in having you host my videos on your site (dont worry, it's high quality original content). message me the details and I can help you set up.

it provide you the social media pages with good number of follower.

how to make any news content viral? how to choose the topic that easily goes viral?

yeah. they are very profitable if you know what to do. my friend earns $100k monthly form copy paste content.

When I was running a viral strategy, my site was making 5-10 a day...

I guess that's great for someone new to this game. For me, it wasn't worth pursuing...

Just my .02...

I would advise signing up for some native ad networks and have multiple advertisers. I have been running viral sites for the past 5 years and its gradually gone from $100,000 a month down to $5000. With each new squeeze facebook puts on their newsfeed, publishers feel the brunt.

Post reach is dropping for link posts and more and more people are being forced to either give up or use facebook ads.

Our average CPM is $3-4 across 3 different networks for viral posts.

My advise is to avoid embedding viral videos, they get less shares on facebook and the CPM is fucking awful.

The best content for you would be listicles. Check out this posts for a guide on what content works best.

Viral sites are profitable but the pay rate is low. As people mentioned, it is roughly $1 ~ $2 per 1k views for AdSense.

I've looked into this also, seems you have to get traffic in the millions to see money that makes it worth it.
And you are completely at the whim of facebook, they change the algorithm and you are fucked.

A possible twist you could do is instead of ads, run a new contest each month via popup (giving away trending gadgets
on Aliexpress) and collect emails. Build up a massive email list and sell to them or sell the list. Just a thought.
