Another thread...there is no way to more forward without checking basics. Those are on either Google or BHW. What do you really mean by asking "how pinterest works"? It simply works. If you wanna know the methods, I doubt you will find spoon feeding method here, I couldn't. Try to skip the methods relying on group boards as those are really outdated.

Simple really....read all of the threads by William702 detailing his Pinterest methods, this will give you a solid base to build upon.

basically you send pins/images and resend others images in a niche.
each pin niche belongs to a board , you have to ask to be accepted to a board, when accepted you get to show your / pin images to there users then do it all agin with there pins/images.
repeat.
to make a pin/ image make sure to advertise your business on it with a watermark.
your need a bot to do everything multiple times and accounts for more niche.
Pinterest is based on images talking and posting and reposting.
the majority of users are ladys .
many niches convert very well.

when showing a link on your pin/ images need to drive them to a lander then main website.

a bit I don't know or unclear , when new user come to Pin Interest , they will guide you , I still remember they will ask you set up a board first than in order can pin image , now you got two option either pin to your board or under the pin side
my question here is , what you mean join other boards ? aka Follow you mean? i never follow , just pin and pin either in my broad or pin side. Impression yes is possible easy to get , BUT is the CLICK visit hard . This is what we want , people Click on it visit your side. which I find it a bit hard ,

If you are new one then just simply create your pinterest profile.
Create some board join the groups. And pins the images as more as you can.
