How page speed impacts blogs with heavy images

I learned this the hard way too. People don’t wait anymore. Even beautiful images lose their value if the page feels slow, so I now design posts with speed in mind first and visuals second.

Another thing I noticed is that page speed affects more than just rankings. Users are less patient now. If a page takes too long to load, they leave, even if the content is useful. Faster pages feel more trustworthy and easier to use.
That's correct. The page speed can have negative impact on bounce rate, and therefore affect rankings negatively.

Page speed matters a lot

Heavy images slow pages, increase bounce rate, and hurt rankings, optimize images or speed will suffer no matter how good the content looks.

I totally agree. But honestly, now I use les of image. less time spent there implies more time onmy post and richer content.

For image heavy sites, speed isn’t a technical tweak it’s part of the content.

I’ve seen the biggest wins by optimizing before upload, serving modern formats, and loading images only when needed. You keep the visuals, lose the friction, and users instantly feel the difference.
