How organized does my internal linking structure need to be?

I created a topical map for my blog in google sheets, and planned to link each tier 3 article in it's respective category with each other. However, as I am adding internal links into my articles, I notice that there are many opportunities to link to my other articles that are in a different tier 3 category. In the end, they all funnel back to the tier 1 article which is the main keyword I am working to rank for...

So my question is, how organized does it have to be? Thanks for any advice

How about making it look natural? I mean link where you find it necessary, I am doing it that way and its works like charm. Avoid patterns, Just my opinion.

You can link articles between different categories. Sioloing is a thing of the past.

personally, I would link only within the same category / silo, but that's my personal choice. I can see some people disagreing with this, which is fine! Just try to have each article on the site with at least 1 internal link, I think that's a good goal

You should add as many internal links as possible. It is useful for a number of things like indexing also.

I don't think you should overdo it. I personally restrict internal linking to either category or posts with similar products.
