FAQ

What's the purpose of this journey?
I started this thread for selfish reasons. Mainly... 1)To keep track of all the things I'm doing, IM-related 2)As a way to improve my writing skills (practice, practice, practice)

What are the methods involved?
Several. I dare say that because I am a newbie (I guess it's a newbie-arrogance thing). But really, it's because I can see A LOT OF WAYS to make money online. The only ingredient missing is "MAN". That's right. I think ALL methods can bring in ROI but it's all a matter of having someone really see it through til it's sustainable.

Further, I am planning on implementing one method at a time until it is sustainable and scalable (+ROI, processes can be delegated, systems in place, etc.) and then move on to the next one.

Why share if you can keep all the knowledge to yourself and eliminate competition?

This is true in every aspect of life, as what I observed... In order to be successful, YOU MUST GIVE more value than what you take. Besides, again, I am writing this and making it as detailed as possible because I want to keep track of what I am doing. If anybody learns from it, that's a great bonus.

Disclaimers has been delivered. It's GO time!

A little background... I live in a small country in Asia called Philippines. Cool place, lots of women, UBER-AWESOME BEACHES, one of the most corrupt countries, and probably has the legendary worst traffic in the world (only applies to Manila and neighbouring cities). I'm saying this to set expectations. So if anybody wants to visit, they know what they're dealing with.

I was never an internet marketer. I am more of an idea guy. I have lots of awesome ideas but execution is mostly off (I'm lazy 90% of the time). Learned the hard way, been through very very very rough patches and got my "Hustle Diploma" after days of going hungry while sitting in a corner, regretting all the time and money I wasted. Long story short: Been knocked down REAAAALLY hard, got up, and now walking. Doing everything I can to grow wings and fly (I know, it's cheesy).

GOAL! The cliche' yet important part...

The goal is to create an online business that would generate $5000/mo. in 3 consecutive months.

First method -- Dropshipping.

I read the Franklin Hattchett (I hope I spelled it right) method and I think it is highly profitable. He's right -- the combinations are endless and it will take a very long time before it becomes saturated (if it does at all).

So here's what I did so far:
*Set up my Shopify store, add a couple products
*Bought a domain for the store
*Start a Bing ads campaign
*Subscribed to MassPlanner and market through Facebook groups

A couple hiccups:
! - AliExpress doesn't accept PH debit cards (SOLUTION: I contacted the manufacturer and she's okay with me paying directly through Paypal and sending my order via Skype)
!! - Facebook Ads (NO SOLUTION YET: Facebook went testicular on me and blocked my advertising account. Some issue with the CC and/or Paypal I'm using. Contacted them and even sent a copy of my ID and still got no response to date).

The approach I'm taking is offering a FREE item and selling the shipping. So far, it doesn't look good so I would need to do a little bit more testing. Within the week, I only got 1 sale. If it still won't generate enough profitability potential after a week, I would need to try a different approach.

TASKS FOR TODAY:
Create 2 Facebook accounts (for marketing through FB groups)
Research on Twitter marketing
Research on Twitter ads
Learn how to use MassPlanner for maximum output

Good luck on your journey. Franklin Hattchett method is very popular these days. I hope you will achieve your desired results. Stay motivated, and keep at it. FB may be trouble during your early going until you learn the ropes. You can do it OP!

***Should I really promote on Facebook groups using multiple accounts? Thing is, I actually want to build my store to last (READ: Built to Last by Jim Collins). Seeing that I want it to make at least $5k/mo. for 3 consecutive months , SPAMMING, which is essentially what I would be doing, on Facebook will only lead to bad rep.

Hmm.. Okay. Calm down. Time to go back to basics. Read some articles about promoting ecommerce websites through social media, SEO on ecommerce stores, etc. Let's take in some knowledge AND implement some actions WITHIN THE DAY.

Can I just say, as a compliment, your English appears to be fantastic. I realise this is for a journey but I am thoroughly impressed and wouldn't have known the difference. Good luck with your journey and I hope you make it!
Aside try buying some VCC's to setup your facebook advertiser accounts.

Thanks man! I will definitely go back to FB ads. But for now, I guess I'll be focusing on unpaid traffic AFTER fully-optimizing Bing ads.

Thanks for the compliment!

As for the VCCs, I'm also looking into it. The problem is:
1)I've seen some sellers here but it seems their VCCs only work on US Facebook accounts.
2)I may not be reading enough but ALL of these VCCs are non-reloadable so I don't know how I'll go with it if I'm going to use them at FB ads.

I recommend juggling multiple projects at once if you have the time, rather than waiting on one to be successful before moving on. Reason being, not all of them are going to work for you, and you will fail a couple times before finding something that works for you. Take what works and scale up, and always be testing and trying new methods, taking action. That is the key to success in IM.

been doing IM for 5 years i have great result on paid ads Facebook group traffic kinda shit on eCommerce anyway good luck

Thank you for the recommendation. My take on that is kind of different. It's arbitrary, how people look at failure. I view it differently.

One man can test out a hundred different methods at once and see where he's succeeding the most and stick to it. Another man (like myself) will exert our full efforts into one method and come up with creative ways to make it successful.

There's no right or wrong. There's only perspective.

I personally like sticking to one method until it becomes successful because I suck at multitasking. I don't like spreading myself thin on multiple approaches.

rules05 -- Good for you! That's awesome. Any tips regarding FB groups traffic? Would love to test your ideas.

I am done optimizing my website. Fixed the copies, descriptions of the items, etc.

Just about to start doing research on "ECOMMERCE WEBSITE SEO" to gain some of that organic traffic. As well as "ECOMMERCE PROMOTION THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA".

Looks like my brain will get some useful juices tonight! Anyway, daily stats.

Thanks man! I'll definitely get back into Facebook ads. Just need to figure out how things work in there.

Wish you all the luck. I am also quite new to IM. So hopefully your thread will help me out a lot :)

So yesterday, I downloaded some videos about SEO fundamentals. Really eye-opening. But because of several distractions, I wasn't able to finish it all.

Anyway, things are looking grim on my Bing ads stats. I wonder what's wrong. I have very low impressions, unlike before, when I made my keywords targeted. So I paused all my ads. I'll probably go back to Bing after fully optimizing my shop.

FOCUS: Organic traffic and self-promotion.

TASKS FOR TODAY:
1. Finish SEO Fundamentals course.
2. Take the lessons I learned and optimize my shop as much as I can

Two tasks but will probably take the remainder of my day plus a few hours. Looks like I'm going back to polyphasic soon. I really need more hours for all the things I want to do.

That's it for now.

Ciao~
