How old were you when you started learning programming?

22, 12 years ago. Picked up Python by necessity or fixing a tool I had.

Today, I earn a little over $60,000 a year from a full-time job in Python.

Best decision I ever made. Get busy, you'll thank yourself later.

I never learned programming at all.

Only focused on marketing and communication.

Generally, marketers and sellers have all the tools programmers have made in order to ease the job to sell products... example with advertising networks, CRO optimisation tools and so on.

Programming takes a lot of time and I never had enough to properly learn it, nor did I ever needed to. There is a tool for everything today...

EDIT: IF you are a marketer, I don't say programming is useless...
 
About 9-10 and I did it all by myself.
I found some old books with source code in BASIC. They were so old that all lines printed in the book didn't work with QBasic 4.5. :D
 
I wish I could code. If I could go back I’d’ve studied it from an early age. I tried going to school to learn a couple years ago and lasted 2 weeks :/

Think of becoming a founder of some company. For me that's the only way forward. Coding as a hobby doesn't fit most people. I consider it as a ticket to fulfill my goals. If math or chemistry were my tools to reach my goal, I would pick them up. But they aren't, so I focus on coding.

When i was 20 i learnt C, C+, HTML, CSS and PHP little bit.. after that nothing.. Still love to learn but not getting time to do practice.
 
30, launched my first full stack Shopify app today a year later, I used to mess up with javascript when using a bot for an online game when I was 15, but I couldn't speak english and had no idea what I was doing. Would be a multimillionaire if I had someone to give me some guidance back then.

Umm.. 10ish I think? It's been a while and my memory isn't always too good. By 13 I was already writing bots to sell porn.

It all started when my family got a computer and my father brought home this game called Gorillas.

You had to open the BASIC source code and execute it to play the game. One day I got curious about all the text and started changing stuff...

From there my curiosity grew and I just ran with it.
 
Whoever wants to learn programming and find it difficult, you need to find some way to make coding fun or fulfill your needs.
In my case i needed a bot to automate something and i knew it could be done with python.

So i starter coding with 0 knowledge on python but still was able to finish the bot in 2 weeks.

Google was my friend and i learned some simple things in python.

If you try to do the same you will find coding so much easier and fun to learn.

if you start learning programming like we learnt math in school and you are 30 years old, you will lose interest in 1 month at most
