I just discovered that the oldest files on my computer are some background images that I downloaded in August of 2004. I rediscovered them a few years ago, when I bought a portable floppy drive to check my old floppy disks for important data.

like 4 days old as I installed windows from the groung up a few days ago :D

BUT! i do have old files in an external ssd, so pretty old files/games/pics! :D

2005 i backed up my old hdd! Sadly couldn't save any of my images from pre-2005 because pen-drives costs a fortune lol

yea, it's crazy that i still have these drives from middle school, but yea i still got em. every once in a while i pull them out for nostalgia. i got computers in my basement from the 90s. compaq, gateway, etc. they're almost entirely useless, save for living in a post apocalyptic society.

I consequently clear out my mac at least once a year, preferbly twice a year. And do a completely fresh installation, with new encryption keys every time. So my files locally on the PC is never more than 1 year old. If i do need to save anything its in OneDrive.

I've got my scanned JPGs from 1995 in a folder as well as some of the txt files and autoexec.bat/config.sys files from the early 90s.

I got 5 half inch floopy for my 286 still lol
And BBC computer lol
Even got tapes lol lol no lathing

80's

I don't know which is the oldest file I have on the PC, but the oldest program I use until today is irfanview, I started using it in the 90s and updated it to work in new windows
