How often to post on Instagram for good engagement

With the new algorithm rolling out (I've noticed a couple of my accounts affected by it now) I'm wondering if it's better to post less- say 1-2 times a day? since the new changes will be posting content most engaged w/ at the top I'm wondering if posting less (but quality) will increase the engagement

How can your accounts be affected when its not even rolled out yet lol, Just post better content and doesnt even matter if you post 5-10 times a day as long as its good content that is all that matters
 
I found 3 to be my magic number in the niche I'm in.
 
I only post 3-4 photos per day as I don't want to look spammy to my followers.
 
I find I get the highest engagement when I post every couple of days
 
Definitely more than 1-2 times a day. Find a happy medium. I would say post no more than once every 3-4 hours. But that depends.. See what works best for you to increase your instagram engagement
 
Depends on the niche I think. I post 2-5 times per day. Timing when posting is also the key.
 
I really depends on the niche in that matter.

They rolled it out on tester accounts- on a couple of my accounts things no longer show up in order it sucks
 
Usually, I try to post 3 pics a day, but my older photos get the good rates of engagement as well. All depends on the niche and a quality of your posts.
 
This depends on niche, timing and quality of your photos. There are niches where you can post 1 photo a day and everything is fine.
 
Depending on the niche and your followers 1-5 photos per day.
I've got accounts that only post 1 photo and get more engagement than others that post 4. On the other hand, I have other accounts that post 4 times per day and get more total engagement than all others. Same niche on all for the above examples.

What does that show you? In my experience, it's a percentage of users, times, divided by the photo subject, multiplied by the day of the week, and then the square root of the total.

Whatever works for me, or anyone else, may or may not work for you. Test it out with one photo a day, then multiple photos, then try different posting times until you find YOUR sweet spot.

Posting less will definitely bring your engagement up a bit but you will gain less followers. You have to find a good middle spot.
 
Awesome- thanks everyone for your replies. I'm struggling with my engagement dropping on multiple accounts & am looking for ways to boost it
