Do I need to submit a new sitemap and and ask to crawl with "Fetch and Render" every time I change anything on the website? Even a sentence?

I sure don't think so. I just do it when I post a new blog or page, I put the page in and fetch.

Good rule of thumb: if it matters to search results, force a crawl.

Only if there is a change in site structure, ie; new page, post, page name change, directory (etc).

    Home Page:
I also do when I add content, or if I'm making lot of big changes throughout the site.

Lot of wordpress plugins can manage it for you- yoast seo I'm sure does it.

Or you can get pro plan from xml-sitemaps which offers a scheduled sitemap creation and submission service.

So I should basically do both each time I change things on the website just to be safe.
    Thanks everyone!
