Hi. I just realized YouTube doesn't update their SERP quite as often as Google does, and now I'm wondering: how often does YouTube refresh its SERP? Does anyone know?

Good question. I had a popular video and I changed my title, tags and description about a week ago. Now the video is not ranked. How long does it take to rank again?

I'm not sure anybody knows but then I've never seen this question addressed before. It's a good one! Personally, I've never really did a test on it. Might just do that now that you mention it, though.

Changes I make to my videos titles, tags and description appear to be indexed usually within 24 hours. I've placed new tags, then the next day did a search for those new tags and my video appears. I wouldn't be surprised if YouTube updates every 6 hours because that is occasionally how long it takes to begin displaying a new thumbnail uploaded.

YouTube does not refresh it's SERP every 6 hours. Only the view count on the video itself does.

If you search for a video, even when the view count has updated on the video itself, you'll find that the SERP shows the old view count.

I was getting tons of views on a video, then to improve it I changed my title, keywords and description to more searched keywords for even better results, but now I'm not getting any views. It's like it de-indexed it. I'm not sure how long it will take for it to rank again.

I think it is quite fast and if not instant. I have made some tests with the descriptions, if you put in the first 2 lines the keyword it is better than lower in the description, it impacts the ranking. Just same as website description. I tested also with Market Samurai, if you have it in the first line, Market Samurai shows that keyword in the description is available, if lower in the description it shows that the keyword is not in the description. It jumped immediately few positions up and I did not wait at all for the position to be updated.
