i update mine every few months if the topic still gets traffic. even small edits help sometimes. google likes fresh content so yeah it can help rankings.

I don't follow a strict schedule. When traffic drops or information becomes outdated, I update. Usually, I refresh statistics, change headlines, or improve structure. This works well to keep rankings stable.

The only time I update old blog posts is if something has changed dramatically and I don't want to provide wrong information, but sometimes at that point its worth just writing a new article about the changes if its big enough to make a post about.
