How Often Do You Switch Proxies?

I'm new to proxies and need help. If I'm using FF plugin, SwitchProxy, how often should I auto-switch the proxies and why do I need to do this?

Using an anonymous proxy server you don't give anybody chance to find out your IP address to use it in their own interests.

So if I'm using let's say, a Socks 4 list...how often do I switch between proxies?

Also, do I have to change settings in Firefox to get proxies to work? Is there a step-by-step somewhere?

It's hard to answer your question. It depends on what you are doing on the Internet.
If you are creating accounts for a specific service, you might need to change your proxy for every new account you make.

If you just want to browse anonymously, you could use a service like TOR. People have different opinions on how secure TOR is though, but I do belive it's secure in the way that your IP will be hidden. I would not use TOR for making accounts though.

If you for example are into eBay you would need to change your IP for every account you have, to not get caught by eBay.

I'm just mentioning examples here. It's not really an answer to your question, but hopefully it was usefull for something

I was curious about the same thing. If you are using proxies with tubespinner or something like that how often should you change them for that?

Again, it depends very directly on what you're doing with them.

For youtube view increasing, frankly it doesn't seem to matter much as long as they work. I only refresh(ed) my lists every day or so to make sure I had enough usable IPs. For other things like the abovementioned craigslist, it's very strict and you'd never get away with that.

If you are auto-rotating 5 IP's to keep speed up, will you be flagged by the site?

Do they know you're switching IP's when you're just working in 1 account?

That's more a question of if they're looking or not.

You can get away with just stuffing a ham down your pants and walking out of the store if no one's watching you. If the shopkeep's aware of you already, you should probably be more careful.

So, when would someone need to auto-rotate IP's? Is it just to always have a fast connection or are there other benefits?

Think really hard about what this actually looks like.

Your account is being connected to from multiple IPs in the same session. Probably in different regions.

Does that seem dodgy to you?

it depends on the actual site you need it for. for some sites, i never switch because logging in from different IPs is a red flag. for others i switch everytime to not raise any red flags - so it really depends on the site.
