How my friend can work from home with his skill?

So I have a friend who can fluently speak multiple language, french, italian, japanese, chinese, can speak with british accent, australian accent and there are other more just can't remember it. English is his primary language.

He is working in a call center but because of health problems, he was forced to leave his company.

He don't have any skills when it comes to IM that's why I can't do anything for him.

He is a very good friend of mine that's why I really want to help him.

Any suggestion or it is possible that he can work from home with his skill?

Any help would be great appreciated

He'll need some kind of portfolio if he wants to get a job quickly.
 
I would suggest hopping on a freelance network and offering translation services. Maybe even fiverr for some of the things. I feel like I've seen people talking with accents on there before.
 
Thanks for the suggestion guys. But actually he is more on speaking and I don't know if he have skills in writing. So what I am talking about is a job online like the one he use to do in call center. Talk to people.

I haven't read it but if your friend is an American you may want to head over to Work Place Like Home. I am not sure how good they are now but I worked a call center from home once before. The forum was very helpful with information and such.

Think outside the box a little, at the broader picture - rather than doing a couple of freelance jobs at a time, why not try something a little different.

1) Setup a Youtube account about how to speak whatever language, then have him do a few lines.
2) Setup a membership site offering to teach people 1 language at whatever price - link people from Youtube to the membership site; if he's Youtube videos are good he will get buyers.

Yes, this will take time and probably money to start up - but it will make more money if done right in the long term.

For quick bucks he can also offer translation service in Fiverr too
 
Honestly he should be able to work as a call agent for companies from his home. If he really is fluent in all of those languages he will have no problem getting hired, its just finding work. Quite honestly he may want to consider responding to job postings on Craigslist.

Get him to fix google translate for unique content. Faster than translating word by word from scratch and really unique stuff sells for good $$ or makes even (a lot) more money when using it yourself.

I'll take a look around and post a link if I come across ones I've seen before. I came across them when looking for solutions for myself. Search "outsourced customer service" or "outsource call center".

Many of those websites will have an area where you can apply for positions as well.
 
He can use his language skills to translate on some freelancing websites (Odesk-elance-Scriptlance-Guru... he can find a bigger list i the internet)
He also can write articles For those website.
If he's in the USA Surveys website might working well for him (just google Get paid for surveys websites list)
He can try Craiglist to make some quick income to start more established business online .
