How much would you pay for traffic?

Depends on how targeted the traffic is obviously. If it's coming from some shitty pirated streaming site, probably nothing. If its coming from highly niche-specific sources with contextual content related to my money sites, then I'd pay a good bit of money for that.

buysellads inventory are expensive as compared to directly advertising in paid ads platforms and in paid ads platforms also one can select niches to target, and it works out much cheaper than buysell ads platform.

Good point. The traffic is interested in the niche of my site (news, sports), not pirated or streaming.
I guess $3-$4 CPM could be a decent price for units.
What is it based on? The site owner just comes up with a number or is there any data behind it? I get that there is probably some kind of auction where my bid competes with the other bids, but it still goes from below $1 and $70+.
Lowest possible CPC, best results, look no further, someone's been drinking!
I get 5M+ per day, but if you get that per month with an $80 investment - I am interested to speak with you.

If you are looking for targeted traffic, adwords and bing are your best friend. Social media traffic also works but it takes time to build social accounts. So for instant traffic, Pay per click is the best source.

I was looking at how to price my own traffic. I sold it at $2 CPM for now and got a $500 first order, I consider it a good result for now.
