Hey guys, I am in the neighbourhood of finding a service that does on-site SEO cheap as I am not that tech savvy. Which leads me onto the main topic. How much would you pay for On-site SEO? I have seen people posting $350+ for on-site work and I personally think that's ridiculous. If you can do it cheaply. Either post here or Skype me william.cadorin1 (Since I can't PM yet)
    Honest answers guys!
    Cheers.

Check out the marketplace or start a thread in the "Hire A Freelancer" section. Maybe SEOclerks could be an option.

If you want it done cheap, you are probably just going to get some little moron making text bold and underlining things.

Honest answers right? Let's lay this out:

    1. You admit to not being "tech savvy". So, bearing this in mind, knowing that you know nothing about SEO or the procedure involved, why would you know anything about how much it should cost? Imagine if you went to a resturaunt and argued about how much your food should cost...
    2. This is the wrong section.

I feel like ranting more, but I'll leave it at that.

Pay cheap prices = get cheap work.

I could go on more, but I don't feel like beating my head against the wall...it's the weekend.

In the real world a full onsite audit can be a few grand...all day long.

The typical range of prices and/or pay formats for SEO services, based on MOZ's industry survey of over 500 SEO providers, is discussed here:

Then hire someone who actually know what they're doing, to clean up the mess, for $1500. :D

Thank you all for your answers, however, I only have about 5 pages roughly that need to be seo optimises which will give me a rough idea of how to do it for future reference. Surely you shouldn't charge someone with only a couple of pages $1500? Sorry if I am annoying anyone with this post.
    cheers.

Well what all are you expecting for onsite SEO?

For example, I pay a guy $75 for a one-time setup fee. He drafts the meta tags, adds breadcrumbs, makes sure all the robot files are correct, etc. It's not a monthly fee to continue working on them or anything. He does it once to get things moving and then that's it. I think it's a fair price and am happy with his work usually.

onsite can be a multitude of things, adding schema, cleaning up code, making the site responsive,, as others have said if you do not know what is involved how can you even tell it has been done. Personally if you are targeting a city I'd be looking at geo meta and other factors. Anyway onsite of a big part of ranking so I wouldn't be using the cheapest service, indeed $350 doesn't sound bad if they know what they are doing.

If the SEO work (on-page or off-page) is understood to be one-off, with the work itemized as in the above post, with no requirement for a "guaranteed ranking" result, charging in the low hundreds seems fair. The MOZ study I cited quoted $1000 as the LOW end set price for a one-time work SEO project, or $250/month ON UP for ongoing work as the standard industry prices.

This is then the real floor for normal pricing of standard SEO work on a site, which can then be modified up or down based on details that make a particular case non-standard. The buyer (in light of this market price range, established from a review of 500 SEO providers) should not be in a position to low-ball from the start to say "$75, that's all," but should reasonably negotiate the fee based on the details. If the buyer insists on a "guaranteed result" (basically, demanding a refund if the site doesn't rank) they should definitely pay on the higher end of the scale---i.e., a thousand or more, not hundreds---to justify and properly reward the risk they are forcing onto the SEO provider.

I think $350 is okay for a solid job on a 10+ page website.

Like other BHW members have already mention, pricing for on page seo are usually charge per page.

Anywhere between $10-30 per page will give you a decent guy to optimize your page for you.

You can start off looking for one at the "Hire a freelancer" section here in BHW.
