I got an idea which could bring me 500k-700k monthly visitors from my country. But I'm not experienced when it comes to creating sites or handling this amount of traffic.
This is the site: mercadolibre.com (somekind of ebay site)
Basically I need an estimate of the cost of designing a site like that and the hosting/operation costs.

PD: I'm not promoting anything.

If u can find a theme like that in wordpress, then you're all set. Now u just need a domain and hosting. Hosting starts at $3.45 usually. If I were you, I would list this question to upwork. You can hire a wordpress consultant to give you a more accurate estimate, depending on what you want exactly.
 
If you look in the downloads section under themes, I have shared many quality WP themes that are untouched and will save you some money testing them out
 
Do a research and stop dreaming. Mercadolibre cost several years ago around 50millions $ to start.
 
If you are that inexperienced, it's very likely that your possible traffic estimate is quite wrong, something that you will never manage to reach with your skills and/or delusional. If you believe that you would build the site and they will come, don't.

Still, you could be right about the traffic, but before you invest in serious unique development you need to have some proof. Use free resources like the ones mentioned above to build a proof-of-concept one and if people really do start flocking to it and it already making you money, find professionals to help you redesign it.
 
Do better research and LEARN much more about all of this before you start dreaming about such business. It is well possible you can make it but you need more experience.
 
Guys I wont try to get into that kind of niche, I know well that I can't compete with sites like mercadolibre.
I'm talking about the site's design and the costs of hosting one.

The niche I'm trying to get to only has 1 medium comp site and it's getting around 1M visitors monthly which I dont know if its true since I checked with traffic estimate tools.
 
If you're not technical get a fully managed solution like WP Engine. It's cheap to start with and can scale as you grow.
 
To get that type of traffic your need real advertising so what your budget?

Adwords for that site is around 45.000 a month
So what you offering as a startup capital.

Radio, tv, sky, google, social ads , adverts

Anyone can clone a website it easy , but what the advert buget to get recognised?
 
I doubt you'll find good advice for such a site easily, if you manage to bring all that traffic, you'll definitely need a well designed cloud solution that can scale fast and reliable, honestly no idea where you could get someone like that, you do need proof that the one doing it for you knows what he's doing and I am sure it won't come cheap..
 
Hello. I am software developer who have majored in web design and development. The costing of the website always depends with the requirements you have and hence the functionality. The traffic that you are getting is motivating and you should be read to learn on how best to monetize it. Learning helps you get to know these things on your own.

Unless you have hundreds of thousands of dollars you're just delusional

I don't want to sound mean, but your estimates mean nothing at all.
I can estimate 10,000,000 people will see this post, because there are millions of english speakers on the internet, but that doesn't mean every single one will end up here

I think you didn't read well, I don't want to compete with mercadolibre, I'm not in that niche. I just want the estimated costs of the web design.

The traffic I assume the site could get is based on the only site that is out there on my niche (there's only one and it's medium comp)

And as I just said, even if you're not competing with them, it will cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars if not millions in site infrastructure, marketing, logistics, personnel, etc, it is certainly NOT something a one person team can handle.

On the other hand, you can get an ecommerce site for like 1-2k, where you can upload your products.

But if you're looking to have a site where users can sell their stuff, well unless you're a millionaire you're better off thinking of another idea.
