Came across a cool article the other day and was wondering how much an article like this with similar amount of research done would cost?

Article is approx 1200 words. A decent content writer should cost you between $1 - $1.20 per hundred words. If you want an article similar to that one then spell it out to them that this is the style you want it in. So to ans your question between $12 - $14.

Although i must say that i use a native American writer for that price, im sure there are others on here who use cheaper services but im happy with my writer

I doubt you get it for that price - it is a 'proper' journalistic article with a decent amount of research and knowledge in it.

I'd say around $50.
