I want to start a membership site up where there's tutorials on after effects, photoshop etc... How much will this cost in total?

Make a unique name and brand.
If you are doing everything yourself, then why you need to spend money ?? Spend it on SEO or PPC or give it to me :p

How much should I be spending on the actual software? And I'll be looking for partners so I'll need to know how much we should each get. We'll have equal jobs.
 
Do the design and content yourself, and to rank on the competative keywords, learn how to use some good software, or outsource it for about $100 a month here on BHW. Get an all in one service.
 
Why dont you use wordpress membership sites, i see many people share here for free.
