Hey there,

I was just curious how much traffic google news brings in when you get accepted as a new site?

For example if I have a new domain that's not getting much traffic at all on regular SERPs and it gets approved, will the articles bring in more visitors solely because it is being featured on google news?

How did you got google site approved, did you bought a Google approved domain? Google site approval can be gamed but getting traffic is whole different ball game.
 
Depends. It can be a few hundred visits per day or it can be more or even less. The more informative posts you publish on a daily basis, the greater your chances are to increase in traffic. However, it's quite hard and not every post will get a good page views.
 
It can be hard to get approved, I used to have a site that averaged about 5000 per day but meant posting CONSTANTLY, to stay relevant and ranking in google news
 
My health blog used to get good traffic from google news (around 1K-2K visits daily) but getting accepted is very, very difficult. I still remember that I had to spent days, researching how to get this opportunity. Finally I was able to because of a fiverr seller. I don't know if he's still selling his service or not, but man, he helped my site get from 600 visits a day to more than 2000 visits a day!!

Not much really. Since Covid19 it's even harder to rank. Basically, you need few posts a day for long term until they start trusting you.

If you are talking about a Publisher Center approval, it will not drive more traffic. It's totally useless. It's almost not possible to be approved into Google News since 2019.
 
Even traffic in millions is possible if you master it. But for high volume keywords, there will be lots of other news sites competing with you and thus the traffic gets distrubuted between these.
