<If this post is in the wrong place i'll paste it in the right place, just let me know.>

So i just lost my adsense account to a poker blog! ha, I had just started with this online money making, and for my first project I didn't want to go ahead and find some mystical niche, i wanted to just do an easy subject to go through the motions of making a blog look professional, and a visually pleasing site to be on, its funny cus the name i registered for my adsense had texas hold em tips in the fookin url.

Newb errors aside, i've been reading and reading and soaking up what this site has to offer, which is an immense amount of information and a great community. To me anyway. I read alot about finding a niche, a searched keyword/s and write content around it etc then place ad's do whatever. I think im going to skip over this method.Seems a little small fish.

So when i get my tax returns im going to buying a domain/s and look around for hosting and build a few sites, get my feet wet.(I've never built any sites but that doesn't concern me,theres a wealth of knowledge at all our fingertips). I have a few aims. First aim which will be no easy task itself is to be paying my rent from my websites which are going to be whitehat.

Im not under any false illusions, i expect this to take a while, i mean im not making zilch currently. So im in for a long slog.

Depending on what i choose to do with profits i make,( i want an offline business too), i want to get to making £500/$822 a day in a few years, thats £26,000/$42,785 a year. That would be rent, bills, car insurance, food etc.

As i said i'll be getting a few domains and setting up hosting in the coming month, i want to get a community site built up, this for my first site is way too much for me to take on. But i cant see myself using up all my bloody time with this niche blog type stuff and end up making £500 a day, and i dont think i want to choose the path of doing niche's to make little bits of money to invest etc etc. I need to think big to make big, but start off small, im wondering if anyone is well established, and making around the £500 a day amount, id like a general idea of how much traffic i would need on my site/s with just adsense and a maybe a few other ad's not many though.

I know theres many variables, and lots of traffic might not convert to ad clicks etc. But im new to all this so im just asking for some general information from your experiences. I was reading adsense blogs the other day and there was people talking about figures like $40,000 a month just from adsense on their sites. So i know its not an unreachable dream, Im a great believer in the secret of success, the secret of successful people being that they simply work harder than everyone else, this is the secret nobody wants to believe.

I want to be the man that works harder than everybody else and because of this i can provide a great life for my Girlfriend and our Daughter.

I digress, So any stories of your success, the work you put into getting there, general traffic number help, i'll be reading all the forums all the time anyway and continually learning the things i need to be learning to get to where i want to be, but having a general idea of what amount of work i will have to be doing to be bringing in £500 a day would be great. Then i can have a better idea of where to go after i get to that point.Cus when i get to that point my offline pursuits will be afforded and there will be no stopping me.

Feel free to either help out with advice or start a discussion, whatever you want, its an open thread.

Wow, you are ambitious!! £500 a day!!

First of all just going out and purchasing several domains with web-hosting, is not the way to start making money through internet marketing.

These small fishes as you call them are the starting blocks to making these £500 a day incomes, so avoid this advice at your peril.

Your long term goal is £500 a day which is fine. But creating loads of work for yourself by working on several websites at the same time is not only going to exhaust you, but will also result in you rather quickly abandoning ideas that may work in the long run and therefore will make you no money.

Think of the small fishes as the short terms goals that will lead to your long term goal of £500 a day.

For example purchase one domain with hosting, add unique content and keep tweaking ads etc till you are getting at least £50 income from that website regularly.

Then once you have achieved that short term goal of £50, build another website and try to obtain the same level of income. Just keep achieving short term goals like this and you will be sure to hit the £500 a day incomes.

Yes the results will be slow, yes it will be hard work, and yes it will be very frustrating at times. But keep at it and i'm sure you can succeed.

    GOOD LUCK!

As Mr Sparrow has eluded to above you have to break this journey down into bite sized pieces. Setting your goal at £500 right off the bat is setting yourself up for failure. When I started out (many moons ago) my goal was £10 per day from half a dozen sites. I reached this goal within about 6 months of hard graft (part time) and upped my goal to £100. I then reached this amount as a result of all the lessons I learned from my earlier mistakes.

I can now make much more than this amount from lesser amounts of websites based purly upon my knowledge gained over the past 5 years - whom ever said "knowledge is power" is a genuis....

Its a progressive journey and to put an amount such as you suggest is not productive given there are so many variables for each site you build - keep it small to start and then once you have learned your lessons it will then be time to scale things up!

He means £500/week, given his aim to earn £26,000 a year. That's more doable than £500 a day!

    500 * 365 = 182500
    26000 / 365 = 71

    So what is it ? 500 quid a day or 71 ? ;)

Depends on what you want to do.

    eg: adsense: CPC 0.30, CTR 2.5% => CPM 7.5
    500 / 7.5 = 66000 impressions

You'll never be able to do a math like that. It all depends of what kind of service/product you're promoting.

If you sell a service for $300 it's pretty easy to reach that amount once you get a steady flow of customers (not too easy), if you're promoting low payout CPA offers, you need more traffic of course, higher conversion rates and so on.

Don't start thinking of a so high amount of money, start low and increase once you reach it.

$50/day can be a good amount of money for the next weeks or months. Forget those quick rich schemes, they don't exist! :)
