I created a membership site for a certain product. The site is complete but will require several hours a week of maintenance work and due to some emergency issues I just don't have the time to maintain it. I've been approached by someone who is interested in purchasing the site but I don't know how to value it. It's been launched for about 3 months and I've made $2100. This is an annually recurring subscription. I've done very little promotion and as this product becomes more popular I suspect that more and more people will join the site. My question is, how do I value the site for sale? Were I to not sell I'd probably make $100-300 a month from the site ongoing plus the recurring payment from the high volume sign-up at the launch. But there's no way to really know. Plus, I don't think there's a way to transfer recurring paypal payments to a new account right? So odds are good that the new owner would lose many of those members at the 1- year mark. I'd appreciate any feedback. The person offering to buy it is a friend so I don't want to screw him but I want to make as much as I can because things are kind of sucky right now. ETA: I am also selling 3-5 affiliate packages each month which bring in $7/month recurring so that should be included in the estimate.
