How much to pay student writer?

I could do this however i'm not a native speaker but tech savvy and reliable.

You can't write about tech stuff without research, you need to know what are you writing about. At least he needs to check how it works and is it any good. It is totally different if he is going to rewrite existing texts.
 
If you pay shit, you'll get shit. It's as simple as that.

And you better plan on increasing that pay later on or lose your writer. The more they write, the better they'll get and the more likely they'll find better paying gigs.

$1 per 100 words for tech job is not high. Though you should check the quality of contents first. Make sure that writer deserve the rate you are paying.
 
For starters, $1 per 100 words is a good price. You get what you pay for, though, do remember that. When you're ready to up your quality, you'll have to up the price, too.

1cpw is fairly standard, and can get you some OK articles. A student or someone who has a more specialized knowledge is going to charge more. If you do go the 1cpw route (or less) make sure to copyscape your work and plan time to edit.

OP didn't mention the language. I think $1 is to little for a native English writer.
 
$1 per 100 words seems fair, and is a price many students would probably be willing to accept. If he's really good, however, be nice and pay him a bit more for his effort.
 
$1/100? I wouldn't go lower than that ... :/ Odds are soon someone will offer him more if he's any good.
 
At $1/100 words, you're not going to get high quality writing. I hope this isn't for a money site. Your cost is rather low
