How much to make a site like ebay??

money invested in technical such as site, host, script ,etc are far cheap. the expensive thing is Time and the Advertise, ebay need million dollars and took around 10 years to get huge like now.

Google "Ebay alternative" or similar.

I'd support anything that comes close. Problem is ebay is free for buyers, and that's where the buyers go. Sellers can go elsewhere, pay less in fees but have less buyers and lower final sale price.

The only way small companies like yours can ever compete with the big boys is to have a point of difference or a Unique selling proposition. You would have to come up with a new twist to the site that no one else is doing. Would have to be so good that it drives hoards of people.

You would still need a big budget so once you have your usp you would need an Angel investor or VC and lots of publicity just to get people to see it compared to ebay.

But honestly it's still unlikely.. It's not very often the big boys lose, but then again look at Myspace.

There are sites out there similar to ebay, like ebid, cqout, etc. But even they don't compare to ebay.

Cost thousands ! Are you out of Ur mind Shity sites cots thousands good stable sites like eBay that work with credit cards and such, wow Ur into the millions and upwards now

You don't need much, All you need to start is a turnkey script ( buy it or download it), then a cheap host ( you won't get 10000000 unique visitors the first mounth) Then a lot of BH SEO/SEM
