- Rank the page, do some nice SEO, if not super hard, try to get the page 1-3 for your local searches.
- Tell him all benefits, mainly vast increase in the number of customers.
- Rent the site per month and say if he doesnt want it you'll sell to the competition, that way you'll guarantee yourself stability month after month as well as giving him a boost. All left to do is keep the SEO and increase the ranks =)

Step 1) Determine what you want to make per hour for doing this work

Step 2) Figure out how many hours it will take to complete the job

Step 3) Multiply (Step 1) * (Step 2) and there you have it - that's what you quote the guy.

Personally I'd add on 10-15% as you're going to have mistakes, fixes, delays, requests for changes, etc. etc.

Take into account the size of the business, I've got a decent sized client that I charge $500 a week for "custom SEO and support" if I was to do web work for them I'd probably bill it out at minimum of $75/h if not more. If I had sent this client a proposal of doing SEO for $500 a month they probably wouldn't have even looked at it because in there eyes that would be a price that's too good to be true.

$60 per hour x size of person buying it + upsells + maintenance and hosting cost

If I were to make this website and be paid for EFFORT, then it would be no more than $300. But you should be smart enough to see you customers ability and how big their business and company is. One time I designed such a website for A BIG business owner and guess what, I got about $8,000 out of it. So I guess you get the idea.

I like it as it is now. The AAA logo looks great. I am not an expert at pricing but I think it should charge a handsome amount.

Im thinking 200-350, for the website, than that leaves some room for monthly SEO payments. You can charge him 20-50 dollars a month for SEO and get a steady check coming in every month. Do that with a couple of these sites, you than have a few 100 coming in every month

I would charge $500. I've had multiple people pay me that rate and for anyone that owns a legit business but is not seasoned in internet marketing thats definitely a fair price.

Yep...i see that.

I see that "sample site" was created in Joomla (*which i understand is pretty complicated to learn).

Decent site with about 20 pages (from what i can see).

COULD that site be done in Wordpress ?

What advantage is there to using Joomla (for a site like that vs. WP)?

$600 bucks would be cheap (is what i'm thinkin)

Remember, most business owners are used to paying bigger numbers for things. A lot of plumbers will spend a couple grand on a one time spray and pray type of marketing, if you offer too low they won't think it's going to provide any value and won't even take you serious. Ask for at the least 2,000, don't undervalue yourself.

For the design in PSD $150.
For a Joomla shell install with design from customized purchased theme(no content added) $400
For a Joomla site install with design from customized purchased theme, with 5 pages created from user generated content and a few minor plugin features that are mainly install with minimal configuration $900-$1000
For a Joomla site install with design from customized purchased theme, with 5+ pages created, SEO completed and extra features. Starts at $1500
For anything completely customized from scratch or using my own theme frameworks, it starts at a minimum of $1000 no matter. These prices are the same for wordpress or drupal.

This is what I charge in Canada. For the anything above and beyond these basic packages, I have a custom pricing chart that I refer to in order to price out the job.

In the end, it does not matter how much you charge it matter how much you want to make. I know how long and how much money it takes me to have a finished product for my clients. I also know what my margins are from all of my work which are margins are a quite happy with for the amount of work I get.
