I want to buy a 1yr old .net domain that is an exact match of a 50k/month search term. How much should I ask for it?

just lowball, than ask for a counteroffer. idk what youre expecting by asking this very broad and general question without giving us anymore details.

Its a two word product domain name. Something like blacksofas.net but in the gardening niche. I have absolutely no idea what they are worth...50$? 250? 1000?

Depends upon what you are planning to do with that domain and how much exact keyword in domain name can help you in your effort... If you don't know how much you are gonna make from this domain and how it's gonna affect your promotion by keyword in name then probably this domain is not for you...

Also check exact search, local search and plan according to that.....

If it was a whole project (website, existing traffic and rankings), you normally say, the price is as much, as you earn in 2 years time with it. If it is just the domain name like blacksofas.net without existing project on it, I would not pay more than 200$.

Usually in a domain name transfer you open with a price they counter and then you counter back. I would go with lowballing and then meet somewhere between your lowball offer and his or her counter offer

I'm in a same situation would like to buy domain (5 Years old, .com, 2words 50k USA searches a month) and sell it, could I get at leaset 250 USD for it? and where is the best place to sell?
Thanks.

ask how much he's making per month currently and make him/her to show the real proofs. then think about the costs.

No I'd like to buy expiring domain and sell it..
So wonder if it would be profitable? And what's the best place for selling domains?

If it is domain only no more than 100$. As already someguy said if it is already ranking and has traffic it worths what it will make in 2 years but if it is nowhere to be found on the SEs then don't give more than 100$. And btw can't you register new domain with this keyword and adding some other words to the domain name ??

I would ask half price of what you want to pay........so if you're thinking to pay 250, start negotiation with about 125. you will pay of around the price you want to pay if price is reasonable to seller.
