ok say I have 8 hrs a day to promote a site. how much time should be spent getting backlinks? how much time should be spent writing articles? how much time should be spent blogging? etc etc or something like 10% should be spent on x 20% should be spent on y 30% should be spent on z etc etc thanks
First look at each one of those and decide how much your time is worth and what can be outsourced. Second think about how you could make 30 articles in one day. Would a program help you? Do you need a spinner? Desktop publisher? Thirdly, would it be easier to make Mondays article days and try to get enough for the week. Maybe Tuesdays for getting back links. It is not always about working harder, sometimes it is about working smarter.
In your case I would spend 30% on content creation (articles, blog posts on your blog, etc.) And 70% on marketing/promotion (article submissions, building backlinks, blog commenting, forum postings, etc.)
Well first of all you need to worry about priorities not what you want to get done in an allotted time slot. Start with backlinks. If it's a new domain set a daily cap of backlinks of around 4-7. Ping them and let them be because they're going to take time to get indexed to even begin giving you some link-juice. Building a few backlinks shouldn't take more than 1 hour. Then update the content on your site. Update to your hearts content just make sure it doesn't look to spammy. and when it comes to blogging... I'm assuming you mean blogging about products on either your site or your backlinks. This could be important too. Just need to prioritize brother.
form a business plan and stick with it create deadlines for yourself there is no set time. you evaluate and delegate importance.
Thanks all of you gave me some good ideas. I think I have some good potential with this site but I am just trying to formulate the best strategy that I can. I definitely need to work on content but at the same time I have a very small amount of backlinks... Right now I am focusing more on backlinks but still need to develop a strategy for that area... Just so much to do and everyday I am kind of overwhelmed with how much I could be doing and wondering what my competitors are doing... Thanks again.
